Mervyn Rogers

In 1977 I graduated from Cardiff Polytechnic with a B.A. (Hons.) in Ceramics. Since then, I have had a number of jobs, both in and out of the art field, covering areas such as teaching, nature conservation, agriculture and animal husbandry. I have a detailed knowledge of the flora and fauna of the Rhiwabon Mountain and the vale of Llangollen. Currently, I produce oils, acrylics, watercolours, drawings and prints. In general, I believe that my work should speak strongly for itself. My sources of inspiration are figures, animals (usually horses) and the countryside surrounding Rhiwabon. I aim to produce powerful expressive works, which include symbolic meanings, both personal and related to Welsh cultural history.
I have exhibited extensively in Wales and the north west of England.
