  The Grosvenor Museum Open
Shown Round the Garden - Hamilton Road by John Bourne

The 11th OPEN ART EXHIBITION at the Grosvenor Museum, Chester, ran from 12 March to 17 June 2015. One of the exhibits, by Welshpaintings artist John Bourne, is illustrated here. The painting was inspired by childhood visits to two elderly aunts in Bangor, N. Ireland. The 194 exhibited works were displayed salon-style, covering the walls.

The Grosvenor Museum contains a fine permanent collection of paintings, including the moving "Portrait of an Unknown Couple" by John Souch.

John Bourne is a member of the Stuckists. He helped to curate and hang the Stuckists Punk Victorian exhibition at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and two Stuckist exhibitions at the View Two gallery, Liverpool.
