Anthony Jones

Anthony has worked in the graphic design and advertising business for over twenty years before lecturing in graphic design at Coleg Menai, Bangor and at NEWI, Wrexham. In the mid-1990’s he attended Salford University to study Art and Visual Culture at degree level. This gave him ‘direction’, how to organize artistic and critical thoughts – as opposed to his commercial design thoughts! His work is concerned with colour and texture and he believes all painting is abstract – whether figurative or not. His biggest influences are Patrick Heron, Turner and Constable, whilst he very much admires the paintings of the late Prunella Clough.
